And for seeing a good friend today and her gaggle of boys. Here's to dreaming of the boy cuteness Calder might possess in a few years.
Also, the kid has 3 modes at the moment: eat, sleep, scream. And we are just letting it happen, The kid has three months to do what he wants (to make up for the 3 months he did not get to spend in deluxe uterine accommodations...) and then the scheduling begins. Ha.
T bridged for girl scouts...I don't really know what that means except that there was a ceremony and now she has a brown sash. And they this year are going to learn about peer pressure, drugs, alcohol and bullying. So, woop woop for the sash that matches the pants. And, "Just Say No!"
When I sit Calder on my lap, he immediately pushes up to a standing position. Advanced, no?
We went to the fair last weekend, I had a scone...and then left. Because, germs. This coming from the human who just ate a cracker straight off the floor. Calder, do you appreciate what I do for you?
I'm typing this with one hand and I may have lost all hearing in my left ear, Three guesses as to why.

Thoughts
Dear Thighs,
According to the scale the pregnancy weight is all gone. According to my jeans it is not. Can't we all just get along?
Dear Mr. Westby,
So much for keeping your germs to yourself. At least the 11 year old isn't sick. However, you made up for it last night when you whispered three little words that made my heart all a flutter: Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Dear Jamie T,
Thank you for introducing me to the swaddle blanket. Saving my life. Saving many lives thanks to me getting some sleep.
Dear CW (the other, older, girlier cw)
I don't know who told you about those blankets you bought us...but, please, give her 5 fist bumps from me. They are perfect and Calder no longer wakes up shivering...so everyone is a winner.
Dear Calder,
When you are a 7th grader, please, don't call me "mommy." In fact, please, never call me Mommy. Mom is great. Mama is fine. 'Mommy' activates my gag reflex. Daddy is fine. Issues....I have 'em o-plenty.
Dear delicious BLT I had for lunch,
Holla.
Dear Weekend,
Please come soon.

Some Pictures and a Letter
Dear Mr. Westby,
Two fist bumps to you for keeping your cold to yourself the last few days.
Let's keep it that way.
That is all.
-the wife
I love this picture of Tayler. I wish I had cut the glare off chub chub's head a little but I just spin the dials and this is what I came up with...not the most technically sound pictures. I should take a class.
Do you see that dimple in Calder's cheek...? I can't believe I have a kid with a dimple!
I might fame this one on the bench.

3 Months (a little late)
Calder, you are huge. No matter that my friend had a baby 2 days ago and he is bigger than you. You are gaining weight like crazy. You are trying so hard to focus on our faces when we talk to you but usually your eyes are a little wobbly in their sockets. Or, you gaze directly to the right of our face intently. You have been home from the hospital for 4 weeks. It has gone fast and yet you have gotten so much bigger and changed so much since we got home. You want to be held most of the time. Most nights you sleep for 3 hours at a time but sometimes you don't sleep at all. You are getting better at knowing when to sleep and when to be awake. You have outgrown almost all of your preemie clothes. Which, makes me sad and happy all at the same time. When Daddy or Tayler come home from school you open your eyes really big and turn towards their voice. It is really cute and so grown up. As I type you are sitting in your swing (it is not swinging) and you are snoring. You take after your Dad's side of the family!
You currently, have several nicknames:
- dote dote
- c-dog
- little bud
- doter
- chub chub
Happy 3 Months little man.

The Lure of the Great Outdoors
Calder's first campfire. And, sadly, this was also our first campfire of the summer. It has been so strange not doing anything we usually do or had planned to do this summer...but totally worth it.
And, a few hours later...Calder's first s'more...
**In other news: We caught a virus on our laptop a while ago. Subsequently, all of my photo editing software has been destroyed. I am mad. So, mad. So, excuse the photo quality. I'm not the best photographer on a good day and then when I can't improve the quality by editing...well, let's just say it's making me a bit crazy.

School Days
The first day of school was yesterday. At the end of the day T was exhausted. Having 3 teachers is fun but tiring! I asked Tayler what the best part of her day was. She said, the time with Mrs. Evans, her science teacher. Mrs. Evans has bird feathers all over her room, 2 turtles and lots of plants. Tayler said the worst part of her day was listening to all of the talking. :)
This year, Tayler is in intermediate school (5th and 6th grade) Next year will be middle school (7th and 8th grade) and then high school. This is such a pivotal time in a child's life. I love teaching 7th grade and watching the kids learn to make decisions and think on their own. Kids learn so much socially during this time it is so fun to be a part of my students lives...I can't wait to see how T changes in the next few years. I love how the 7th graders can carry on an "adult-like" conversation with me by the end of the school year. I qualify an adult conversation as one where they are asking me a question andbare genuinely interested in my answer (not just telling me about themselves...).
Tayler has been such an amazing big sister to Calder. She never forgets to kiss him goodbye or hello. She wants to hold him all the time and has been great about all the attention that Calder has been getting. She even changes diapers!
